Make a Claim

As a broker, AgriRisk will act on its clients behalf to help facilitate a simple, accurate and efficient claims process. Since established in 1989 AgriRisk has assisted in 3,000 claims, with not one ending up in litigation - and that's good news for everyone.

If you incur loss or damage that may be covered by your policy, please follow the simple steps outlined below.

1. Notify the Loss Adjuster

It is very important that you act quickly if any loss or damage is incurred that may be covered by your policy. Generally you must notify the Loss Adjuster within 48 hours.

Contact details of the Loss Adjuster will be contained in your policy document. If you don't have this handy, please contact Agririsk.

You will need to provide the Loss Adjuster with the following information:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Your policy type and number
  • The exact time that the loss or damage occurred
  • The cause of the loss
  • A description of the property location
  • An estimate of the nature and extent of the damage
  • Photographic evidence, if possible

2. On Site Inspection by the Loss Adjuster

The loss adjuster will need to visit your property to inspect the loss or damage and will contact you to arrange a suitable time. Please make sure you are available so you can show them the loss or damage.

For tree and crop losses this visit may be up to two weeks after the loss, depending on the nature of the damage caused, so don't be alarmed by any delays. If you are concerned, contact Agririsk so we can help you.

For general insurance losses the Loss Adjuster will arrange an inspection as soon as possible after the loss event.

3. Processing the Claim

Following the visit, the loss adjuster will submit a report to the Insurers detailing the extent of the loss. They will then keep in contact with you at various stages throughout the process to determine the final claim amount.

You will need to sign an acceptance agreeing to the amount of the claim and the Insurers will settle with you once they have received this acceptance.

Most of your contact will be with the Loss Adjuster but as your insurance broker, AgriRisk will keep in contact with you to ensure the process runs smoothly.
